Future Self
"Future Self" is a series of portrait photography stills that were taken accompanied by projection mapping. By using Kantanmapper within TouchDesigner moving patterned textures were projection mapped onto the subjects to add depth to the images.
Exploring the representation of self and body in photographic form creates something lively, as the bright and fluid colours of the projection captivate viewers and hug the models with a technological glow. Working as a contrasting factor to the human form, the digital projections juxtapose the natural organic display of the human figure.
Garden Ecosystem
Created in partnership with Lauren Naidoo and Jada Paul, "Garden Ecosystem" is a particle simulation system that educates the viewer on both thriving and dying floral family ecosystems. Our particle systems interact with both soil and sun quadrants in order to either grow in size/quantity or die off.
Created in Open Processing, this sketch works off of a quadrant system. Each orb represents a local Okanagan plant species that has certain characteristics needed to survive. If spawned in the right conditions the orb will grow and multiply, if not it will die off.
